Javarah has been captivated by dance and movement performance since 1980, studying many different forms. In 1992, she began studying Egyptian Raqs Sharqi exclusively, and has been teaching in Puget Sound since 1997. Her strength as an instructor comes from keeping class fun, full of movement breakdowns that emphasize safe muscle and skeletal use, historical and cultural information, and a supportive spirit.
